Daily Log 60 - Warm up sketch

Tenho andado muito ocupada ultimamente com trabalho ( já deu para notar no blog, né? ) e pelo meio tive umas feriazitas no Algarve de papo para o ar que me souberam que nem jinjas :) Hoje cheguei cedo ao estudio e lá deu para fazer um sketch de aquecimento. E sempre ponho um post em Agosto ! Aproveitem as férias e descansem porque as minhas já acabaram :P

Omg , i´m back! Well, not really, just arrived earlier at work today  so i had a bit of time for a warm up sketch. Been very busy during August with work and also a mini vacation down south, enjoying the beach.
Vacation is over but the work load is still on so dunno when i can post again, we´ll see :)

Daily Log 59 - Sketch again

Pois é, já cá não postava há umas semanitas, tenho andado um pouco atrapalhada de trabalho e sem muito tempo para dedicar ao blog ultimamente.Os proximos meses vão ser bastante ocupados por isso é provavel que vá postando mais esporádicamente. De qualquer forma aqui está um esboço rápido para relembrar que o blog ainda mexe :D

Have been really busy with work lately so i don´t have much time to dedicate to the blog at the moment. This might go on for the next couple of months, we´ll see. In the meanwhile here is a little sketch done just after lunch time

Há já algum tempo que não postava um samurai, aposto que já estavam com saudades, mwahahahahha!

Daily Log 56 - Fun with texture brushes

A ideia era tentar imitar metais de forma rápida e por isso peguei nums brushes de photoshop texturados e
 fui experimentando. Não fiz tudo num dia , mas no decurso de duas tardes de trabalho. Gosto bastante do resultado final , tenho de experimentar mais vezes esta técnica.

The goal was to try and imitate some kind of rusted metal in a quick way, so i messed around with some textured brushes in photoshop and this is what came out. I tried out the dogdge tool with a textured brush and it does wonders , although it´s easy to give in to too much brightness . I really like the final result and i´ll try this technique again on some more doodles.

Daily Log 55 - World of warcraft fan art

Esta está num formato estranho, acabei por fazer asneira na composição. Aproveitei o esboço da minha antiga personagem no Warcraft (e que já tinha postado aqui anteriormente) e pintei-o . Não será dos meus melhores trabalhos mas eu gosto do detalhe nas roupas.

This one i messed up on the composition a lot . Well i messed up on everything else too but the compo sucks the most of all the mess ups .Not my best work at all but i like the detail in her clothes . Anyways, it´s based on my World of Warcraft character sketch ( wich i posted here before) and since i quit the game not so long ago i got to miss it a bit and the fun times i had playing it.

Daily Log 54 - Discovering a Muse

Mais uma ilustração para um challenge no Art Order, desta vez chamado "Discovering a Muse". O objectivo era usarmos fotos de referencia de uma conhecida modelo americana, de seu nome Veronika Kotlajic e fazermos uma ilustração de fantasia baseada na foto escolhida. Escolhi a foto acima ( courtesia da Time Studios ) mas acabei por não cumprir a deadline, que era até 1 de Junho. De qualquer forma gostei da ideia inicial e resolvi acaba-la na mesma. Fiquei contente com o resultado mas ainda há muita coisa a corrigir !

Another challenge piece for the Art Order blog, this time for the "Discovering a Muse " challenge. The goal here was to depict the famous american model Veronika Kotlajic as an artist´s muse, and she kindly provided a great set of reference photos for artists to choose from. I choose the photo above ( the photo credit goes to Time Studios ) and did my best to find my muse .
Although i didn´t make the deadline ( it was due on June 1st ) i still wanted to finish what i started and im happy with the result cause i learned a bit more from it ;)

Daily Log 53 - Another painted sketch

Mais um sketch que já aqui tinha publicado e que virou ilustração finalizada. Este também fez parte do material que levei para a exposição colectiva do Lisbon Studio no festival de BD de Beja.

Another sketch i had already published in the blog and that i ended up finishing as an ilustration. This one i also took to the IV International Comics festival of Beja as part of the Lisbon studio colective exibition at the  festival.

Daily Log 52 - Newspaper ilustration

Esta foi feita para o Jornal " I " há duas semanas atrás, saiu num artigo sobre um super governo de super ministros, e onde também participaram mais colegas do The Lisbon Studio. No fim foi uma ilustração conjunta em que cada membro do estudio pegou num ministro e o retratou como super heroi.
Eu escolhi a Leonor Beleza, das opções dadas pelo jornal. A ideia era retrata-la como ministra da saúde e a Patricia , colega do estudio , sugeriu vesti-la de super enfermeira :D

This one was done for a portuguese newspaper on an article about the perfect government , where the chosen politicians would apear as super ministers. The work called for ilustrations from the gang at The Lisbon Studio, i choose to ilustrate the super minister of health and Patricia , a studio mate ,  sugested i dressed her up as a super nurse !

Daily Log 51 - Painted elf sketch

Prometi que postava algums dos sketchs deste blog já pintados por isso aqui está um deles . Este faz parte do material que levei para a expo do Lisbon Studio em Beja, embora eu tenha dado um jeito nas cores á posteriori. Acabei por fazer uma grande salganhada nesse aspecto, não pensei bem nos toms que iria usar e acabei por não conseguir a ambiencia nem a pincelada que queria mas enfim, já estava tão farta desta imagem que resolvi chutar a bola para a frente :D

Here´s one of the sketches i posted before, now in color. Im really not happy with this one, i made a mess on the color choices and hues and over detailed stuff a lot. But every painting has been a learning experience for me so it´s good anyways. I had this one done for some time but was saving it for the Beja expo with the Lisbon Studio. Since the expo has opened last weekend i can show it in the blog now ( although it´s a bit tweeked )
