Daily Log 52 - Newspaper ilustration

Esta foi feita para o Jornal " I " há duas semanas atrás, saiu num artigo sobre um super governo de super ministros, e onde também participaram mais colegas do The Lisbon Studio. No fim foi uma ilustração conjunta em que cada membro do estudio pegou num ministro e o retratou como super heroi.
Eu escolhi a Leonor Beleza, das opções dadas pelo jornal. A ideia era retrata-la como ministra da saúde e a Patricia , colega do estudio , sugeriu vesti-la de super enfermeira :D

This one was done for a portuguese newspaper on an article about the perfect government , where the chosen politicians would apear as super ministers. The work called for ilustrations from the gang at The Lisbon Studio, i choose to ilustrate the super minister of health and Patricia , a studio mate ,  sugested i dressed her up as a super nurse !

Daily Log 51 - Painted elf sketch

Prometi que postava algums dos sketchs deste blog já pintados por isso aqui está um deles . Este faz parte do material que levei para a expo do Lisbon Studio em Beja, embora eu tenha dado um jeito nas cores á posteriori. Acabei por fazer uma grande salganhada nesse aspecto, não pensei bem nos toms que iria usar e acabei por não conseguir a ambiencia nem a pincelada que queria mas enfim, já estava tão farta desta imagem que resolvi chutar a bola para a frente :D

Here´s one of the sketches i posted before, now in color. Im really not happy with this one, i made a mess on the color choices and hues and over detailed stuff a lot. But every painting has been a learning experience for me so it´s good anyways. I had this one done for some time but was saving it for the Beja expo with the Lisbon Studio. Since the expo has opened last weekend i can show it in the blog now ( although it´s a bit tweeked )

Daily Log 50 - Quick sketch

Um esboço rápido para um personagem random para um sketch blog já não tão diário. Os ultimos dias têm sido uma correria de coisas a fazer por isso só hoje tive tempo de parar um bocadinho e desenhar qualquer coisinha para o blog. O festival de BD de Beja já ficou para trás , foi um fim de semana em grande de que guardo agradáveis recordações. A malta do  The Lisbon Studio esteve no festival em peso, promovendo a Mag #1 e a exposição colectiva que lá irá estar ainda nas próximas semanas. Se puderem dar um saltinho a Beja não se esqueçam de a visitar na Galeria do escudeiro!

A quick sketch for a not so daily sketch log nowadays. Been a bit busy these past few days and didn´t have much time to dedicate to the blog until today. Spent the weekend down south for a colective exibition with my studio mates from The Lisbon Studio  and some good times we did have there. Nice company , meeting fellow artists from around the globe and having awsome south cuisine , what more could i ask for ;)

Daily Log 49 - Dwarf art !

Esta foi feita novamente para o site Art Order, para o D&D Pin up challenge. Foi uma das escolhidas para figurar na página frontal do blog . Ureshi!

This robust lady was done for the D&D pin up challenge at the Art Order site. It made the 20 picks out of all the entries and was featured on the blog´s front page amongst other fine fellow artists. It made me happy :)

Daily Log 48 - More Black and white stuff

Não pensava acabar esta ,  começou por ser um sketch simples e depois degenerou numa peça completa. Agora estou arrependida de não a ter feito em melhor resolução...

I´m a bit angry at myself for not having made this one with a bigger size. It started out as a warm up sketch but it got out of hand and i ended up finishing it. Oh well , time to get to work on a serious piece then.

Daily Log 46 - And now for something completly diferent !

Não faço a minima ideia de como esta saiu , estava meio a dormir ontem a noite e enquanto lia mails tinha o photoshop aberto, e a imagem foi se desenhando por si  ;)

I have no idea how this one came out since it was late at night, i was half asleep and checking mails at the same time. I really like the end result , maybe i´ll do a few more in this style

Daily Log 45 - Fantasy art trial

Não tive tempo para publicar nada nos ultimos dias e espero assim redimir-me com uma ilustração finalizada, em vez do costumeiro sketch. A espada na mão esquerda não está numa posição correcta, devia te-la tirado mas só me apercebi no fim hehehe. Mais uma lição aprendida :)
Usei inspiração para esta ilustração a partir deste senhor, um dos meus artistas favoritos de fantasy art.

Due to some personal stuff i have been unable to post lately but now i´m back and with a finished piece wich i hope will redeem my laziness. I took a lot of inspiration from Kev Walker´s rendition of this magic card , cause he´s one of my favorite fantasy artists and he knows his stuff pretty well .
The sword on the left hand is not at a natural position but i only noticed it in the end and i want it to stick there,  like a sore thumb,  to remind me of what not to do everytime i look at it :)

Daily Log 44 - Exercise

Mais um exercicio, voltei a não acertar com a cara mas para já não estou muito preocupada em faze-las iguais ao original. Gostei muito da palette deste, são toms que não costumo utilizar, com contrastes bem marcados. Claro que no fim deu-me a preguiça e não fiz o moço lá atrás , no cenário. A foto encontrei na net, não é minha , espero não estar a infringir copyrights ao coloca-la ao lado do meu exercicio :P

Another exercise , i liked the colors on this one, it has hues i don´t use a lot. I messed up the face again ( amongst other things hehe) but i´m not worried about likeness at this stage, just getting the hang of colors, hues and shapes. I got lazy in the end and didn´t bother with the background guy. I found the reference photo on the internet, hope i´m not infringing some copyright by placing it besides my exercise image ...

Daily Log 43 - Painted sketch

Pintei um dos sketches que já postei aqui. Pintei o do elfo na floresta também mas vai fazer parte de uma exposição colectiva do Lisbon Studio em Beja , no fim do mês, por isso para já não a publico ;)
